Virginia P. (Polly) Lawson of Clearwater, Florida formerly of Miami, Oklahoma passed away Monday May 21, 2012 in Clearwater, Florida. She was 87.

She was born in Commerce, Oklahoma to William Franklin Smith and Mattie P. (McKibbon) Smith on June 26, 1924. She is of the Baptist faith. She was a teacher of the Gospel and loved to teach it. She worked for Child Evangelism Fellowship in Miami for many years. She lived most of her life in the Miami area before moving to Florida 7 years ago to be close to her daughter.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She is survived by her son William Lee Lawson, her daughters Betty Lou Spears, Linda Sue Lester and Virginia P. McManaway. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Lou Styles, Alma Blair, Ruth McConnell, her brothers Bill Smith and Harvey Smith. She is also survived by several family and friends.

A private family interment will be held at Fairland Cemetery in Fairland, Oklahoma.
