Obituary for Freddy "Fred" William Cobbs, Sr.

Freddy “Fred” William Cobbs, Sr. of Miami, OK passed from this life Friday, March 1, 2019 at Windridge Nursing and Rehab in Miami, OK. He was 84.

Fred was born February 1, 1935 in Gracemont, OK to Harvey and Edna (Green) Cobbs. He had lived in the Miami, Commerce, Picher and Cardin area most of his life. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a M.P. Fred was a mechanic and worked at Shawnee Grocery Tire east of Miami.

Fred was preceded in death by a son Rickie Cobbs, his parents and 3 brothers Jerry, Wesley and Kenny and his sister Donna.

Survivors include 3 sons Freddy Cobbs, Jr. of Miami, OK, Jimmy Cobbs of Oklahoma City, OK and Ronnie Cobbs of Purcell, OK, 2 daughters Martha Rushing of Bakersfield, CA and Beverly Bridgeforth of Yukon, OK, a brother Leon Cobbs of Coleman, OK, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK. Rev. Ray Clonts will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home. Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
