Obituary for Kenneth Glen Phillips
Kenneth Glen Phillips of Commerce, OK passed from this life Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Integris Miami Hospital in Miami, OK. He was 90.
Kenneth was born October 27, 1928 in Wayne, MO to Frank and Opal (Keller) Phillips. He graduated from Golden City High School in Golden City, Mo in 1946 and had lived in Commerce since 1949. He served in the U.S. Army in Military Police during Korea Conflict from 1950 to 1960. Kenneth had worked as a railman for Frisco Railroad, pin setter and maintenance for Playland Lanes in Miami for 40 years and a custodian for Wal- Mart in Miami for 15 years. He was a member of the North Miami Assembly of God Church in North Miami, OK.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Homer Phillips, a sister, Beulah Pooler, a step brother, Junior Wyatt and 3 step sisters, Louise Phillips, Betty Murphy and Shirley Lyle.
Kenneth married Imogene (Hall) Phillips October 10, 1953 and she survives of the home, other survivors include his daughter, Kendra Jean Phillips of Miami, OK, a brother, Norman Phillips of Exeter, MO, 4 sisters, Maxine Foster of Lawrence, KS, Nellie Wyatt of Miami, OK, Fern Hart of Commerce, OK and Gladys Dorsey of Bebee, AK.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the North Miami Assembly of God Church in North Miami, OK. Rev. Bob Cooper will officiate. Interment will be in Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens in Miami, OK. Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Post # 147 Funeral Detail. James E. Phillips, Curtis W. Phillips, Kenneth E. Phillips, Jack Wyatt, Jr., Curtis Wyatt and Joey Welch will serve as pallbearers. Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
